Puddle Duck Cottage and Duckling Cottage are two luxury self catering holiday cottages that, we’re proud to say, have been featured as one of the top places to stay by The Telegraph. Located in the heart of the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge, Shropshire which is home to the World’s first cast iron bridge and birthplace of the industrial revolution, Ironbridge features ten award winning museums including Blists Hill Victorian Town, Enginuity, Jackfield Tile Museum, Tar Tunnel and Coalport China Museum.
Each holiday cottage offers a truly home from home holiday experience, in a tranquil and peaceful location next to the River Severn at Jackfield There are a fabulous choice of pubs and restaurants within a five minute walk, and the cottages are located near to the Wrekin Way footpath, providing our guests with traffic free scenic walks and cycle trails to enjoy during their stay. The picturesque centre of Ironbridge is only one mile away and has a lovely selection of independent shops and excellent places to dine out.
Fantastic stay in a lovely cottage. Great location for walks, tourist attractions and pubs.
Back from a fabulous family holiday with my two girls, husband and beagle. The attention to detail at Puddle Duck cottages is exceptional. Sonia certainly knows how to make her guests feel welcome and comfortable. We walked through the door and was greeted with cake, thoughtful gifts for the girls, wine not to mention a toy for Toffee. The cottage is tastefully decorated, clean and cosy. Such a relaxing week exploring the surrounding area which is both beautiful and interesting. We loved the tile museum and Victorian Town including the many dog walks plus the dog & children friendly pubs. I would definitely recommend Puddle Duck to my friends and family. We can’t wait to go back
We stayed in Duckling Cottage where we instantly felt at home due to Sonia`s warm welcome. The cottage was immaculately presented, comfy, cosy and spotlessly clean. Sonia was so kind to our beagle, Chilli, providing treats and a new toy to welcome her on her first holiday which made us feel relaxed too as she clearly loves dogs. The gorgeous flowers, cake, wine, and other edible goodies Sonia provided were lovely too.
We found the beds really comfortable and the towels were so thick and soft that we felt very cossetted. The lovely assortment of table lamps throughout the cottage added to the cosy atmosphere and the mild weather was the only reason we didn’t use the log burner but I am sure it would be gorgeous in cold weather.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the Ironbridge Gorge as well as visiting Much Wenlock, Bridgenorth and Ludlow. The meals we had at local restaurants were delicious and Chilli our beagle was welcome at them all which was great. We cannot recommend Sonia and Darren`s hospitality highly enough because we had a brilliant time and would love to return again with other members of the family when we have the chance.
Myself and my Mum had a wonderful break at Puddleducks ! We could not fault it ! The cottage was immaculate, beautifully decorated and area is the perfect place for a peaceful relax ! Location is super, lots of lovely walks, museums & pubs, it was so relaxing to arrive park the car and not need it till we left. Can’t recommend puddle duck cottage enough
The cottage was exactly as described and included a fabulous welcome pack. This included bread, milk, wine, cake and even toys for the dogs. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed, including luxurious soft towels and a comfy bed at the end of the day. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs and had plenty of parking spaces. The owner was there to welcome us and also acted as a perfect tour guide. Right on the door step there were great walks along the river and the woods, which also led to dog friendly eating places. We hope to return to this fabulous cottage and we will be telling our friends also.
We enjoyed a very relaxing weekend with our Labrador. The cottage was very well equipped and cosy. The welcome flowers ,chocolate cake and wine were very thoughtful and dog biscuits much enjoyed. With the helpful information at the cottage we visited local pubs where we enjoyed lovely food in the warm with our dog. Walked for miles and had a wonderful time we would definitely recommend Puddle Duck cottages.
