The Gurnard’s Head is a dog-friendly dining pub with rooms on Cornwall’s Atlantic coast between St. Ives and St. Just, near the Minack Theatre, Zennor, Penzance and Newlyn.
We want The Gurnard’s Head to be an inn that returns you momentarily to the slower pace of life that so many of us yearn for.
Time spent in this part of the world will unwind you as you enjoy one of the country’s most dramatic coastlines, one that has inspired artists and walkers for centuries.
The salty air is proven to make you sleep deeply in the most comfortable Vi-Spring beds. You will eat simple, earthy and delicious food. Beers, wine and sherries: all chosen because we love them.
We support our local community, source our produce with sustainability in mind, and we set our prices with our local customers in mind, not the extended tourist season.
We loved the place as soon as we set eyes on it. We hope you will too. And we are open all year, so please do come and visit us.
There is no supplementary charge for dogs
We welcome dogs as much as their owners and are happy for them to sleep in the bedrooms, although we would prefer that they don’t share our beds with their owners.
We have good tables downstairs where they can sit with you while you eat. Do ask for these when booking as so many of our guests decide to bring their dogs when visiting.

Good Double/Twin – £192.50 B&B and £280 Dinner B&B
Better Double / Twin (most suitable as a family room) – £247.50 B&B and £335 Dinner B&B. For any children over five years old we charge £40 for camp bed & breakfast. Please ask for an older children’s menu, we can provide High Tea in the bar from 5.30pm
Best Double (with courtyard terrace and log burner) – £347.50 B&B and £435 Dinner B&B
Single Occupancy prices are available.
Excellent value is our Sunday Sleepover which includes Sunday lunch, supper, your room and breakfast on Monday from £315 per couple.
