Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottages aboard 19th Century Dutch Sailing Barges in Suffolk.
With Hundreds of Five Star reviews, as well as Gold Awards for all of our Suffolk Holiday Cottages, the Woodfarm team has been creating precious memories for guests to our since 2009.
The philosophy with our Barges is exactly the same as with our Barns; to provide comfortable and unique, dog-friendly places to stay in the heart of the beautiful county of Suffolk. We’ve built our reputation on successfully combining all the creature comforts our guests demand, with welcoming their four-legged family. And now you can enjoy a relaxing break on one of two beautiful Suffolk rivers on board one of our Historic Dutch Sailing Barges, and take the whole experience to yet another unique level.
We openly welcome up to three well behaved dogs aboard our barges and are happy to discuss other pets too as we’ve had rabbits, hamsters and even a parrot in our other holiday cottages before. We have fabulous river walks straight from your gangplank! Please check out our website for more details of local walks, along with lots of places in the area where you’ll be welcomed with your dog.

“What a lovely barge, surprisingly spacious and full of character. We wanted somewhere ‘quirky’ for our break and this fitted the bill perfectly. The extras (chocolates and Champagne) were a lovely touch.” – Cathie, reviewed May 2019.
“We’ve had a really good stay with the most fantastic weather. There’s everything you could need here and the breakfast stuff was really useful. The Plough & Sail does lovely food. Good coffee to be had from the cafe next door. Orford is well worth a visit with a Post Office where you can get cash and also sells excellent vegetables. Loads of walks from here with the dogs. Sutton Hoo not far away, which also allows dogs in!” – Marianne & family, reviewed April 2019.
