Chestnuts roasting by an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose. Apart from much loved Christmas carols, our cosy dwellings decked out to the rafters with traditional decorations, and a sweet smelling fir tree adorned with tinkling fairy lights, nothing screams Christmas quite like a festive hamper!
Brimming with tasty treats and mouthwatering morsels, it’s one of my favourite parts of Christmas. This year however, it’s not just us humans that will be indulging in a festive feast! One very lucky little lady has received the most lavish of early Christmas gifts – her very own luxury dog hamper.
Picture the Fortnum and Mason of the canine world. These hampers really are quite something and are the perfect way to indulge your furry friend this Christmas, or indeed at any other time of the year for that matter. [If you’re anything like me, you can always find an excuse to pamper your pup!]
Christmas can be an overwhelming time of year. With relatives to buy for and preparations for the big day to organise, what could be more welcome than a hassle free gift for your canine companion? An opulent treat for that all impawtent family member. Better still, it arrives delivered to your doorstep in a beautifully presented wicker basket!
How did the idea for Luxury Dog Hampers Come About?
I’ve known Karen, the creator behind this innovative new concept, for a few years now. As a fellow winner of the Theo Paphitis Small Business awards, our paths have crossed on several occasions and we’ve met up at events.
Karen runs a very successful dog walking business, Suffolk Dog Services, aimed specifically at exercising high energy dog breeds. Recently, she has branched out into the world of Luxury Dog Hampers.
Inspired by watching a television documentary all about Fortnum and Mason, and realising there was a gap in the market for a doggy equivalent, Karen set about creating Luxury Dog Hampers.
Karen’s dog Bailey is a similar age to Pops, and just like me, she has made the conscious decision to spend as much time as possible with him. Indulging him in his senior years and making every day with her precious canine companion count. Her new enterprising business lets her have the perfect work/ life balance. Allowing her to spend time with Bailey, whilst earning a living doing something she loves and is passionate about.
A Gift of Opulence
Now I must be honest, the word ‘hamper’ can have very different connotations depending on your expectations, but these hampers could not disappoint even the fussiest of pupstomers! We are talking serious LUXURY!
First there is the impressive picnic-style wicker casket. Complete with sturdy leather buckles and a beautifully stitched handle, this gift really does ooze quality from the outset. With two metal chains to keep the lid of the basket open, it also allows for the recipient to have a good old sniff of the contents without fear of ruining the beautiful packaging. [I’ve already got designs on it to be Poppy’s next toy basket once the contents have been consumed!]
Natural Treats and Sustainable Toys
If you’re anything like me, you’re very choosy about the treats and food that you feed your pup. Since being alerted to some of the scary ingredients that lurk in many dog treats, (things that can have such a detrimental affect on our dogs health and well-being), I will only feed Pops natural treats, where I can pronounce and recognise all the contents!
With Luxury Dog Hampers, you have no need to worry. The treats are 100% natural, sustainably derived and have been carefully chosen with your dog’s health in mind. All the dog treats have been sourced from local artisans and independent British suppliers. You won’t find any artificial flavourings, colours or nasty additives lurking here!
The hamper includes many of mine, [and probably more importantly in this particular instance] Poppy’s favourite brands! Artisan companies like The Innocent Hound, Soopa, JR Pet Products and Green and Wilds. All pet food brands renowned for their high quality products and transparency when it comes to sustainable, responsibly sourced ingredients.
There is even a bottle of bubbly for Pops on the big day – Champaws! [I must make a mental note not to get the bottles mixed up on Christmas morning when I’m making the obligatory Bucks Fizz!]
The hampers are very reasonably priced, and what I particularly love is that you can read the contents and know what you’re getting before you buy. Much as a surprise can sometimes be lovely, when I’m buying for Pops I’d rather know exactly what to expect as she can be quite picky!
The hampers range in price from £35 for the Little Luxuries Hamper, to £75 for the Ultimate Indulgence Hamper. Very soon Karen will be introducing a ‘Create Your Own’ option where you will have even more choice and freedom to tailor your gift exactly as you wish.
So if you’re looking to pamper your pup this festive season, I can not recommend Luxury Dog Hampers highly enough. Just imagine that little furry face on Christmas morning when your dog is presented the ultimate gift to tantalise their taste buds.
A huge thank you to Karen for gifting us this hamper in return for an honest review of your fabulous new product. It’s a huge paws up from us.
