I’ve always admired Helen’s work, but it wasn’t until she presented me with this wonderful caricature of my girls, that I fully appreciated the extent of her talent.
It’s not until you have known Helen’s subjects intimately, and shared your life with them, day in day out, that her caricatures really come to life.
On the 15th of March 2022, I said goodbye to my best friend. Poppy dog had been by my side throughout the most challenging years of my life and her passing came out of the blue.
A year on, I share how I’ve survived, and how I’ve learned to come to terms with my overwhelming sense of loss.
Pops was my entire world and I will cherish every moment we spent together for the rest of my days. Despite the heartbreak and pain I am feeling now, the memories and love we shared are worth every tear.
