Lockdown has intensified not just our love of dogs, but our love of home baking. We put Sniffe and Likkit’s Home Barking Kit for dogs to the test in our latest blog.

Sniffe and Likkit Home Barking Kit

Since the launch of the Great British Bake Off, many of us have been testing out our culinary skills in the kitchen. But what would make baking even more fun? Involving your dog of course!

I love a spot of home baking, but it’s double the enjoyment when it involves Pops and Gerts. Sniffe and Likkit’s Home Barking Kit is a fabulous rainy day activity and perfect for cooking up a storm with your furry friend.

Not only is canine cookery a fabulous form of amusement, but it’s a great way to bond and interact with your dog.

These tasty morsels are the perfect gift to get tongues licking and tails wagging! Super easy to make and bake these treats are already firm favourites in our household.

So on a rainy day in May [there’s been plenty to choose from], we rolled up our sleeves, pegged back our ears, and baked away to our heart’s content!

Sniffe and Likkit Chicken Liver Treats

The mixture makes 16 treats and here’s how we made them.

  • Pour the dry mix into a bowl.

  •  Add 1 egg, some water, and a couple of tablespoons of oil to the dry cake mixture.

  •  Mix it together until it’s the desired consistency. [A taste test is essential at this point!]

  • Share the mixture evenly between the paw and bone silicone mould baking tray.

  • Pop in the oven to cook for 10-15 mins. Whilst they are cooking you can start the washing up.

  • When they are golden brown and firm to touch, take them out of the oven and allow to cool

Dog Sniffing Biscuits

  • To allow adequate cooling time, we can highly recommend a little rest!

  • Once fully rested, and the biscuits are the perfect scoffing temperature, gobble them up!
