Soggy Doggy Drying Mitts

Now, we all love our canine companions, but no one really wants a soggy doggy in the house! So when we were asked by Soggy Doggy Wholesale U.K. to trial their doggy drying mitts and mats for them, we jumped at the chance. Soggy Doggy are the only importer in the U.K. for these fabulous products which are created in the USA.

Soggy Doggy Drying Mitts for Dogs

A dog can shake 70 percent of water from their fur in just four seconds

Doggy fur can hold a lot of water, you’ve only got to be standing in the wrong place after a dog’s been for a swim and you will know that when they shake, the spray from their fur reaches an impressive distance [usually soaking innocent by-standers!] Dogs in fact can shake roughly seventy percent of water from their fur in just four seconds, so any product trying to compete with this natural ability has to be pretty good!

I have to confess, I brought a cheap version of the Soggy Doggy mat and shammy when we were away on holiday last year and have always been disappointed with them. Not only do they not dry Poppy dog particularly well [in fact a standard cotton bath towel does a better job] they also smell of damp dog after just one use! [Not good – after all you don’t want your house or car, for that matter, smelling of eau de dog!] So, having already tested a product designed for the same purpose, we were keen to see how the Soggy Doggy range compared.

How are Soggy Doggy mats different?

You’ve only got to feel Soggy Doggy products to know they are in a league of their own and very much designed for purpose. The products are constructed from a series of ‘noodles,’ which are tightly woven using millions of textured, ultra-fine strands. This makes the surface area of the products much greater than they appear, meaning they are far more absorbent than similar products on the market and due to their deep pile, they soak up water just like a sponge.

Holds up to seven times its weight in water

The Soggy Doggy Door Mat can hold up to seven times its weight in water! It comes in a range of colours, so it can compliment your home decor and a large mat is just £35, which I think is a great price point for such a fantastic product. Complete with a non slip backing, it’s just perfect for picking up all that excess dirt and water from soggy feet and preventing wet paw prints from leaving a little trail throughout the house!

No more damp dog smell!

What’s particularly great is, you know that damp dog smell I was referring to earlier, well Soggy Doggy products are odour free and bacteria free too. I have to admit, I was a little sceptical as to whether this was true [eau de dog can be quite pungent after all!] However, true to their claim, there is not even the slightest whiff of damp at all.

Soggy Doggy Mats are Great on your travels

Whilst these mats have a non-slip backing, they’re not rubbery on the reverse like you’d imagine non-slip to be, so I tend to use Poppy’s mat in the back of the car. It’s fab for drying her off before we embark [no pun intended!] on our journey home after she’s been splashing around in the river, and also it provides a comfortable blanket with its soft velvety texture making it kind on delicate doggy tummies and paws.

These mats can also be used to line dog crates too, so they’re are incredibly versatile.

Now in the depths of winter, on a cold, wet day [you know the type I’m on about – the ones that seem to go on forever!] Poppy has been known to become a bit of a dressing gown slob! But dressing gowns [or drying coats as they’re conventionally known!] aren’t always convenient, you haven’t always got time to loaf about for hours on the sofa! Therefore you need something which removes moisture quickly from your dog’s coat and the Soggy Doggy Shammy is the dog’s danglies when it comes to drying your dog!

The Soggy Doggy Shammy

Now I promise you, once you have experienced the Soggy Doggy Shammy Drying Towel, there’ll be no going back! This product is a must have for any dog owner. Just like the door mat, it’s super absorbent qualities mean that it is five times more absorbent than regular cotton towels, so it really does dry fur in a flash. [Poppy has really thick fur too, so it’s drying capabilities have been well and truly put to the test].

Soggy Doggy Drying Solutions For Dogs

What’s even better is that it comes complete with two convenient pouches to pop your hands in, a bit like a pair of oven gloves, making it easy to dry paws and bellies with more precision; and because it’s made from durable microfibre chenille it’s also nice and soft, meaning I don’t get growled at when I’m a bit heavy handed! [She’s such a princess, but it’s very true cotton towels can be rough – particularly if they’ve been washed a lot].

Soggy Doggy Drying Shammy

Machine Washable

The Soggy Doggy Drying Shammy costs just £24, which is think is very reasonable for a product which really does do what it promises. From memory is only a few pounds more expensive than the similar product which didn’t work very well! Not only that, their products wash so well too. Machine wash them at a cool temperature and they’ll be as good as new ready for your next muddy adventure.

So, all in all Soggy Doggy products have definitely got a paws up from us and for the complete drying solution for your dog, I would recommend using both products together – let your dog stand on the mat whilst you rub their body down with the mitt, and you’ll have no more soggy doggy ever! In fact, I have a feeling we’ll probably end up with a few sets of these – one for the car and one for at home after bath times.

Grey Soggy Doggy Mitts

Soggy Doggy have other products in their range including slop mats [just perfect for catching those splatters of milk – yes Poppy is a huge milk fanatic, blue top only please!] They also have crate mats [although you can use the door mat for the same purpose] and Slobber Wobbers for those more droolie canine companions!
